Most of you reading this know that PROPEL was acquired by a company called Blue Cypress back in 2020, and one of the coolest parts of being acquired has been interacting with the leaders from the other companies in the family. While we are all independent from each other as companies, Maddie and I have always thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we could all get together and collaborate?”

On October 10, Blue Cypress is putting on its first ever community event, featuring speakers from the family companies, all of whom will be focused on how to create real innovation in the association space. Associations have learned how to “talk the talk” around innovation over the last 10 years or so, but they have a long way to go on “walking the walk.” They are still too often victims of “we have always done it that way” thinking, and they’re not doing what it takes to access new value that they couldn’t reach before.
